Access

The Forest lists San Antonio Hot Springs as an open site on a 0.7-mile out-and-back trail. Its own description: hot spring water emerges from several sources on a steep hillside and flows into several primitive, rock lined soaking pools of different temperatures. Visitors reach the trailhead by taking Forest Service Road 376 north for five miles to a small parking area serving non-motorized access. No potable water at the site.

Access notes read from the manager's own page, checked 2026-08-19.

Worth knowing: Forest Road 376 from its junction with NM 126 north to its terminus at the San Antonio Hot Springs Trailhead carries a seasonal motorized closure — the Forest’s April 2025 Jemez Ranger District road update set it at March 3 through July 1, 2025, with hikers and bicyclists still allowed to use the road — and the Jemez National Recreation Area management plan describes FR 376 as usually open May through December, with the last 15-and-a-half miles best travelled in a high-clearance vehicle. Confirm the current dates with the Jemez Ranger District before driving in.
