Access

From the Umpqua Hot Springs Trailhead the Forest’s route crosses a foot bridge over the North Umpqua Wild and Scenic River, then climbs a steep 0.3-mile trail to a “tub” 3 feet by 5 feet by 2.5 feet deep hewn out of the travertine deposits and sheltered by an open-air roof structure, which the Forest records at temperatures of 100 to 115 degrees. Day use only, sunrise to sunset. The fee is $5.00 per vehicle per day, waived when a Northwest Forest Pass or Interagency America the Beautiful Pass is displayed. A vault toilet is on site; there is no drinking water. The Forest tells visitors to expect high use and nudity at this popular site.

Trailhead: Umpqua Hot Springs Trailhead, above the North Umpqua River near Toketee

Winter: The road to Umpqua Hot Springs typically closes in the winter months; the Forest tells winter visitors to plan to hike, snowshoe, or ski the last 2.5 miles.
