Hot Springs State Park sits on colorful mineral terraces along the Big Horn River at Thermopolis; Wyoming State Parks states that more than 1.8 million gallons flow over the terrace every 24 hours at a constant temperature of 128 degrees Fahrenheit. Public soaking is at the park’s State Bath House, where the mineral water is maintained at 104 degrees for therapeutic bathing. The park is day use only, with 6.2 miles of universally accessible and hiking trails, picnic areas and group shelters, and a suspension footbridge the park calls “The Swinging Bridge.”
