Access
The city’s page reports mineral water flowing at a constant rate of about 7 gallons per minute and a temperature of about 106°F, bubbling up into a cement and stone tub about six feet by nine feet by five feet deep. A log cabin was constructed over the pool area in 1900, a separate changing room was added around 1920, and the present tub room was constructed in 1939; volunteers formed a bathhouse committee in the 1930s to maintain the facility, a service still provided by volunteers. Rules for bathing are posted and are taken seriously. Donations to keep the bath house clean and the facility maintained can be left at the Tenakee Market or The Bakery.
Winter: The page says the bathhouse has always provided a warm and welcome place to meet with friends, especially during the cold winter months, and that many Tenakee residents without showers or bathtubs in their cabins rely entirely on it.
Access notes read from the manager's own page, checked 2026-08-19.
Worth knowing: The bath house is run by a volunteer committee on donations and its posted bathing rules are set locally; the city’s page gives no hours or season — verify locally before a visit.
