Access
The Saline Valley Warm Springs site in the remote northwest corner of Death Valley National Park. The park reports that “The soaking tubs and primitive campground at Saline Valley Warm Springs are now open,” and that “The only route open to drive there is from Big Pine, CA over Saline Valley Road’s North Pass” — Saline Valley Road’s South Pass and Steel Pass Road past Palm Spring were closed by flood damage. The park’s alerts and conditions page, updated 18 August 2026, still lists Saline Valley (Primitive Campground) as open.
Trailhead: Saline Valley Road North Pass, from Big Pine
Access notes read from the manager's own page, checked 2026-08-19.
Worth knowing: Road status is the binding fact here. The park’s opening notice is dated 30 November 2023 and only the North Pass route was open then; confirm current road and site status on the park’s alerts and conditions page before going.
