Access
The Forest’s Frisco Box Trail #762 runs 6.9 miles one way along the upper San Francisco River and lists Frisco Warm Springs among what it reaches. From the Frisco Box Trailhead the trail skirts the east side of private land — the Forest asks hikers to keep to the trail and adhere to signs respecting private landholder rights — climbs a ridge above the rock bluffs, drops back to the San Francisco River, then follows the gorge bottom with no developed trailway; past the narrows, or Box, the canyon gradually widens and the springs lie about 1.5 miles further upstream. The Forest calls the terrain rough and rocky and unsuitable for livestock, and does not recommend travel during the rainy season or spring runoff when high water could pose a risk.

Worth knowing: The Forest names this site two ways: Frisco Warm Springs on the Frisco Box Trail #762 page, Upper Frisco Hot Springs on the trailhead page. A second Forest route, Warm Springs Trail #124, runs 4.15 miles from the Upper Frisco Hot Springs Trailhead at the end of Forest Road 35 (12.3 miles north of US 180 between mileposts 14 and 15), north along the ridgetop of South Mountain and down into the San Francisco River canyon to meet Trail #762.
