The BLM places Spencer Hot Springs southeast of Austin, on public land in the Battle Mountain District, and describes it as primitive compared with other destinations on public land: there are no toilets, no potable water and no other services on site. The BLM says visitors come here for relaxing, sightseeing, wilderness exploration and the district’s other public-lands options.
